What is MiscarriageHelp.com? A place of support if you've suffered a miscarriage.by Ellen DuBois on 07/30/13
It's hard to believe MiscarriageHelp.com has been online since 2006, the same time my book, I Never Held You, launched. Back then, the website was a bit different and so was the cover of my book.
The one thing that hasn't changed over the past seven years is the purpose of MiscarriageHelp.com- to give those who have suffered a miscarriage, or more than one, a place to share, reach out, connect.
When I created a Facebook page as an extension of this site, the outreach grew. More and more women and their families have connected and found comfort in each other, or have simply found an outlet to let their feelings out. I never minimize this. It's so important to let it out rather than let it eat you up.
Miscarriage often leaves you feeling so alone and isolated. Even after all this time, too many women, (and their families), suffer in silence. Many women don't know where to turn and feel like they've run out of options. Friends may seem tired listening, even if they haven't said so. Your spouse/partner may not know how to respond anymore. You may have heard things like Don't you think you should just move forward and get past this?
While I'm not saying you'll grieve forever, I am saying you are grieving the loss of a baby you loved and had wishes and dreams for. Many people still don't 'get that' and I think it's because there was never a baby seen or held. So, your loss tends to be viewed as something you should get over more quickly. This often makes you feel even more alone.
MiscarriageHelp.com is here to remind you that we all grieve and heal at our own pace. When the well has run dry, I am here, we are here, to give you water for your soul. We are here to help lift you up, or at least take your hand, while you try to get through the day. I want you to believe there are others who have lived through the pain of miscarriage. I pray you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, whatever...right here.
That's what MiscarriageHelp.com is and always will be about- supporting you through one of the toughest times of your life and letting you know you're not alone.
If you want to leave a post, please do so. Email me, too. Whatever works for you. Maybe you're more comfortable reading the comments of others. That's okay, too. There is no right or wrong.
There is simply support.
Love and Light to you, and I'm deeply sorry for your loss.
