Casey, An Independent Film About Miscarriages, Currently In Development By Made U Look Productions Dane Terrell. A woman, guilt-ridden, over her miscarriages and her broken marriage, must deal with her conflicted feelings, for Casey, an abused, seventeen-year-old daydreamer.
Synopsis:
Teresa (Noureen DeWulf of The Backup Plan, Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past, and Oceans 13) is going through the woes of her second, miscarriage. To complicate matters, Teresa is growing further apart from her insensitive, husband Paul, as she has nightmares about her unborn children, yet she doesn't seek help from, Judy Wenchal, a child, bereavement counselor.
One day, after abruptly leaving a baby shower, hosted by Jan (Tamela D'Amico, American Jazz Artist and fimmaker), Teresa walks in on Paul, having an affair. After a nasty argument where Paul faults her for the miscarriages, Teresa moves out and into the neighborhood of Casey, a reclusive, immature, seventeen year old.
They quickly start off friends, and Teresa soon serves as a mother figure to Casey, in lieu of his violent, alcoholic mother, Norma. Ever since Casey's father, Ted, walked out on them, Norma has been physically, and verbally taking her drunken frustration out on Casey.
Outside of home, Casey is the daily target and laughing stock at school, at the hands of the cocky, Brian, who also happens to be the boyfriend of Julia, a conceited, flirtatious girl, that toys with Casey's emotions.
As Paul and Teresa grow further apart, Paul descends into despair. Torn between Paul and Teresa who is carrying out a taboo affair with Casey, Teresa and Jan's friendship becomes strained.
Confused, and tormented for her love for Casey, Teresa finally seeks counseling with Judy, who helps Teresa face her personal demons and release her guilt of her unborn children.
Unable to support Teresa's illicit affair at Paul's expense, Jan ends her friendship with Teresa. Tired of Teresa not knowing how she wants to relate to him, Casey, breaks off his relationship with Teresa as he learns how to stand up against his alcoholic mother and the bullies at school.
Having lost her best friend, Paul, and now Casey, Teresa, once and for all, must reconcile her love for Casey, in hopes of winning him.
